Simone M. Leonard is a member of the firm’s Employment Law Practice Group. Her practice is focused on representing employers in a variety of employment disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to accommodate, and wage and hour litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Simone practiced as an associate attorney at a San Diego-based general civil litigation and insurance defense firm, where she defended clients against personal injury, premises liability, construction defect lawsuits, as well as EEOC, FEHA, and workers’ compensation claims.
During her time at the University of San Diego School of Law, Simone served as a Moot Court Executive Board Member, competing at the nationally at the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition. She also served as President for Advocates for Children and Education.
Additionally, Simone dedicated much of her time in law school to honing her core litigation skills and deepening her understanding of employment law. As examples, she did this while working as a Certified Legal Intern with the USD’s Civil Litigation Clinic, and as a Legal Intern at Petco Animal Supplies, Inc., under the supervision of Associate General Counsel for Employment and Labor Law.
